Today's random anecdote
Have you known long pants? It's never too late. Wear them today!
So we were watching the Twilight Zone last night and it was this episode where a recently deceased grandmother called her cherished grandson on a toy phone she’d given him… FROM THE BEYOND. She also convinced the grandson to, uh… Join her in the beyond. ‘Cause she was lonely.
As the show marched towards it’s end, the boy clung to un-life while EMTs worked lackadaisically with an ancient espresso machine trying to bring the boy back to life. While the EMTs lackadaised, the father called his deceased mother on the toy phone… IN THE BEYOND and begged her to let the boy return to the land of the living.
The dad listed things the 5-year old boy hadn’t experienced in life:
- He’d never known life outside his room.
- He’d never had a girl friend.
- He’d never known long pants.
So, this morning, when you wake and greet the sun, ask yourself: have you known long pants?
I, for one, will be wearing long pants tomorrow.
